Key Milestones
Key Milestones That Have Shaped Us
2021-2022: ADMIT Established
ADMIT Investment and International Trade Co., Ltd. was established on October 18, 2021, to address a significant need within Cambodia. Led by Managing Director Mr. Vannal Van, who is also the President of the Cambodia Foods Exporter Importer Association (CamFeia), ADMIT is more than a consultancy. Supported by a dedicated team and an extensive network of experts, the company was founded with a clear vision: to empower Cambodian enterprises to thrive on the global stage. This core goal has driven ADMIT’s mission from the beginning, and the company remains committed to strengthening the Cambodian export sector.
2023: Genesis and Strategic Imperative of CEDP
ADMIT, in collaboration with the Cambodia Pepper and Spices Federation (CPSF), officially launched the Cambodia Export Development Program (CEDP) in December 2023. This initiative is a distinct and new undertaking, separate from previous, unrelated government-led programs such as the Cambodia Export Diversification and Expansion Program (CEDEP I and CEDEP II), which were supported by the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) and focused on different sectors and timelines. ADMIT ‘s CEDP represents a fresh, private sector-driven approach, working in concert with key industry bodies to address contemporary export challenges. The timing of the launch in late 2023 signals a concerted and recent effort to formalize and significantly boost Cambodia’s export capabilities under a new, strategically designed programmatic framework.
2024: Capacity Building on Export Readiness - UNICA Enterprise
ADMIT successfully delivered a targeted capacity-building program for UNICA Enterprise, significantly strengthening their capabilities to engage in international trade. The initiative provided in-depth training and strategic development in:
1-Value Proposition Design for Export Markets
2-Business Model Development
3-Navigating Legal and Tax Compliance in Trade
4-Effective Preparation for International Trade Fairs
5-Streamlining Export Logistics
6-Crafting Compelling Export Sales Presentations
7-Finance Policy for Trade
Outcome: UNICA Enterprise has demonstrably enhanced its operational readiness and strategic approach to exporting, marking a key milestone in their business development, fully supported by ADMIT’s expert intervention.
2024: Project Management and leadership Lead to Successful GHP and HACCP Certification - New Idea Enterprise
“Through its dedicated project management and exemplary leadership, ADMIT has proficiently steered New Idea Enterprise towards the successful attainment of both Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) certification. This significant achievement is not merely a procedural success but a strategic imperative that delivers multifaceted benefits.
For New Idea Enterprise, these certifications are foundational to its commitment to excellence and sustainability. They ensure enhanced food safety standards, bolster consumer confidence, and improve brand reputation. Furthermore, the implementation of GHP and HACCP systems drives operational efficiencies, optimizes resource utilization, and reduces risks, directly contributing to the economic pillar of its sustainability strategy. By fostering a robust food safety culture, New Idea Enterprise also reinforces its social responsibility. The certifications are also pivotal in unlocking new market opportunities, potentially expanding its reach and competitiveness.
This successful outcome serves as a prominent milestone for ADMIT, underscoring its profound expertise in managing complex, high-stakes certification projects. It highlights ADMIT’s capability to provide impactful leadership and deliver tangible results that align with its clients’ strategic objectives, particularly in enhancing operational integrity and supporting long-term sustainability goals. The successful GHP and HACCP certification for New Idea Enterprise is a clear testament to ADMIT’s role as a valuable strategic partner.”
2024: The success of ADMIT in guiding Two Parrots Enterprise to obtain a USAID Feed The Future Cambodia Harvest III grant of up to $75,000
ADMIT demonstrated outstanding project management by successfully developing a proposal that secured a significant grant of up to$75,000 for Two Parrots Enterprise. This funding comes from the highly competitive Feed The Future Cambodia Harvest III initiative, backed by USAID, which aims to strengthen Cambodia’s agricultural sector and promote economic growth.
This achievement is a major milestone for ADMIT. It highlights their ability to navigate complex grant application processes and their strategic insight in aligning business goals with development objectives. For Two Parrots Enterprise, this grant serves as a vital catalyst, empowering them to mobilize their business capabilities, invest in expansion, capture new markets, and potentially create more jobs.
In essence, ADMIT’s success not only provides a substantial boost to Two Parrots Enterprise but also contributes to broader economic development within Cambodia’s agricultural landscape, underscoring ADMIT’s proficiency and impact as a project management entity.
2024: Project Management and Leadership- Sovannak Mojin Agro Co.,Ltd
Sovannak Mojin Agro Co., Ltd. has secured grant funding from the Feed The Future USAID Cambodia Harvest III initiative to improve its cashew processing facility and pursue organic certification in collaboration with local farmer groups. While the precise grant amount of $75,000 and a total investment of $200,000 as stated by the user could not be definitively verified through available public information, the core support from USAID’s Harvest III program for Sovannak Mojin’s cashew endeavors is confirmed. This initiative aligns with Harvest III’s objectives to bolster the Cambodian agricultural sector by supporting private sector actors in enhancing competitiveness, improving value chains, and increasing market access, particularly for export. Sovannak Mojin Agro Co., Ltd., a company noted for its commitment to organic and environmentally sound farming practices, will utilize this support to upgrade its processing capabilities and work towards achieving organic certification for its cashew products.
2024: Supported Companies at Thaifex 2024
A tangible outcome of the CEDP’s early activities was the showcasing of six CEDP-supported Cambodian enterprises at Thaifex Anuga Asia 2024. These companies and their product focuses included.
1-Unica Enterprise LLC: High-quality seafood products, including fish jerky, premium dried, spicy, and ready-to-eat crispy fish.
2-Ringacam Enterprise: Dried turmeric and ginger products.
3-New Idea Enterprise: Banana-based products such as banana sugar and candy.
4-PPF Yummy Food Manufacturing: Ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat meals.
5-Sovannak Mujin Agro: Nuts and organic peppercorns.
6-Mondulkiri Organic Pepper Agricultural Cooperative: Organic peppercorns.
2024: Safe Use Agro Chemical on Pepper Value Chain- Fucshs (Cambodia) Co., Ltd and DGRV
The Challenge:
Cambodian pepper farmers were reportedly using substantial amounts of chemical inputs, leading to high levels of pesticide residue in the black pepper. This contamination was a major obstacle for companies like Fuchs Cambodia, preventing them from exporting the pepper to their target international markets which have stringent food safety and quality standards.
ADMIT Consultant’s Solution and Expertise: To tackle this challenge, ADMIT Consultant provided crucial expertise to farmer cooperatives. Their approach focused on:
*** Best Practice Capacity Building: Empowering farmers with knowledge and skills in sustainable and safe agricultural practices.
***Training and Coaching: Offering targeted training sessions and ongoing coaching to ensure the adoption and correct implementation of these practices. This included education on the safe and effective use of agrochemicals.
***Internal Control Systems (ICS): Assisting farmer cooperatives in developing and implementing ICS. An ICS is vital for ensuring that production processes consistently meet specific standards, including those for chemical use and residue levels, and for traceability.
Significance of the Achievement: The success of ADMIT Consultant’s program is a notable development for the Cambodian pepper value chain. By enabling farmers to reduce chemical input and manage pesticide residues effectively, the project helps:
Meet Export Requirements: Allowing Cambodian black pepper to meet the stringent standards of target export markets.
Improve Farmer Livelihoods: Potentially increasing income for farmers by connecting them to higher-value export markets.
Enhance Food Safety: Contributing to safer pepper production for both domestic and international consumers.
Strengthen Cooperatives: Building the capacity of farmer cooperatives to manage quality and production standards effectively.
This initiative aligns with broader efforts in Cambodia to improve agricultural practices, ensure food safety, and enhance the competitiveness of agricultural exports like pepper.
2024-Present: Facilitating in Establishment Cambodia Mango Federation (CMF)
Key Achievements of ADMIT and Kirirom Food Production in Initiating the Cambodia Mango Federation:
1. Identifying the Strategic Need and Vision for a Unified Mango Sector:
* A foundational achievement would be ADMIT and KFP recognizing the collective challenges and opportunities within Cambodia’s mango industry. This includes issues like fragmented efforts, inconsistent quality control, the need for stronger market negotiation power, and the potential for enhanced international branding.
* Formulating a clear vision for how a Mango Federation could address these issues, leading to improved benefits for all stakeholders, from farmers to exporters.
2. Pioneering Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy:
* Taking the lead in initiating discussions and consultations with other mango producers, processors, exporters, and potentially farmer associations. This involves the considerable effort of building initial consensus and highlighting the shared benefits of a federation.
* Championing the cause for the CMF within the agricultural community and possibly to governmental bodies, making the case for its importance in the strategic development of Cambodia’s mango exports.
3. Developing the Initial Concept and Framework for the Federation:
* Likely undertaking preliminary work to outline the potential mission, objectives, structure, and operational modalities of the CMF. This groundwork is crucial before wider consultations and seeking external support. * This may have involved studying successful agricultural federations in other countries or sectors to draw best practices.
4. Proactively Seeking Strategic Partnerships and Support (Notably with GIZ):
* Recognizing that establishing a national-level federation requires significant resources, expertise, and coordination, a major achievement of their initiative is the proactive step to identify and approach potential partners like GIZ.
* Successfully preparing the necessary groundwork, proposals, or expressions of interest to engage GIZ and solicit their support for the CMF’s establishment. This demonstrates strategic foresight, and an understanding of the collaborative effort needed. (My earlier findings indicated GIZ is indeed involved in facilitating a mango federation, and KFP is a partner in a GIZ MangoPPP project; your clarification suggests ADMIT and KFP are the instigators seeking this GIZ involvement).
5. Demonstrating Leadership and Commitment:
* By “working so hard,” as you mentioned, ADMIT and KFP are demonstrating significant commitment and leadership. Investing their own time, resources, and reputation to drive forward an initiative that benefits the entire sector is a key achievement in itself.
* This leadership helps to build momentum and encourage other stakeholders to join and support the cause. **In essence, the key achievements of ADMIT and Kirirom Food Production at this (user-defined) current stage lie in:
* Being the catalysts: Identifying the need and being the initial driving force behind the CMF concept.
* Building the initial coalition: Starting the essential work of bringing industry players together.
* Strategic outreach: Actively working to secure the necessary support and partnerships (like with GIZ) to move from concept to reality.
These initiating efforts are critical first steps. The successful engagement and securing of support from GIZ, followed by the formal establishment and operationalization of the Cambodia Mango Federation, would be the subsequent major milestones for the entire mango sector, building upon the foundational work reportedly initiated by ADMIT and Kirirom Food Production.
2025: Online Training and Workshop on Principal EU Organic, USDA Organic and JAS Organic Training
A key achievement for ADMIT, stemming from its Online Training and Workshop on Principal EU Organic, USDA Organic, and JAS Organic standards, is the significant revelation that a substantial portion of Cambodia’s agricultural stakeholders possess limited understanding of organic products and methodologies. This finding, described as a “surprise,” encompasses a wide range of actors within the sector, including farmers, processors, exporters, business associations, and university students.
This crucial insight gained through ADMIT’s training initiative serves as a profound diagnostic for Cambodia’s burgeoning organic sector. By identifying this widespread knowledge deficit, ADMIT has highlighted a fundamental challenge and, consequently, a critical area for focused intervention and development. This understanding is pivotal for tailoring future capacity-building efforts, educational programs, and support mechanisms to effectively uplift the organic agricultural landscape in Cambodia. The uncovered gap underscores the necessity for foundational training to ensure that Cambodian producers can effectively meet and leverage international organic standards for enhanced market access and sustainable growth.
